“Natural” and “cosmetic” don’t have to be contradictory terms.

It is possible to love makeup and love your body. Now more than ever, there are beauty products that can enhance your appearance and also benefit your skin’s health.

Below are some of my favorite products that will add some detail and color to your beauty routine while also taking care of the beautiful features you were born with – All within a college student’s budget, of course!

1. Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub – $7.29

The best way to start off a good beauty day is to wash your face! All of Simple’s products are gentle and affective for women with sensitive skin. The Smoothing Facial Scrub is especially good at deep cleaning, but without all of the chemicals. All simple products are a worthy investment and they’re easy to find at local drug stores. ***

2. The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 – $20

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Then moisturize some more. Your mother was right when she told you moisturizing was second most important to SPF. This product combines two of your most important beauty products in one. Although this moisturizer isn’t completely void of chemicals, its attention to Vitamin C and its perfect sunscreen level makes up for that. Apply a thin layer after washing your face and you’re sure to have healthy, luminous skin for many years to come.

3. Burt’s Bees Wax Lip Shimmer – $5,default,pd.html

If you’ve never heard of Burt’s Bees Wax before, I’m so sorry for you. This brand of beauty products came to fame for its amazing lip balms. Since then it has expanded to include a plethora of products all made naturally from bee’s wax. The Lip Shimmer combines the moisturizing qualities and subtle texture of lip balm with the shiny color of a lipstick. This product is infused with Vitamin E and Sunflower Oils, not to mention that delicious peppermint tingle. “Plum” is my personal favorite shade.

4. 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara: Black Tea – $21

100% Pure prides itself on having only organic beauty products. Most mascara contains tons of chemicals and artificial dyes. This Fruit Pigment Mascara instead extracts color from fruits and teas to create an intense, dark color that’s actually good for your eyelashes. Not only is it waterproof and full of vitamins, this mascara is also free of the chemicals that irritate people with sensitive eyes. It is a must-buy!
