This past South by Southwest, Wild Child was named Best Folk Band of 2013, and they’re coming back this month for Fun Fun Fun Fest.

With crowd-pleasers such as “Pillow Talk” and “Silly Things,” the band produces mellow and infectious sounds that blend perfectly with the harmonies of vocalists and songwriters Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins.

Originally from Austin, the band has made their way around the states and even Canada, constantly gaining more fans. But they haven’t forgotten where it all started.

“Austin is always a favorite to play in. It’s our home base,” vocalist Alexander Beggins said. “All of our friends and family are there, and all the fans are really proud to call you theirs. You feel honored to play for them and you don’t get the same response anywhere else.”

Wild Child released their second album, “The Runaround,” this past October, and has been treating audiences to their new tracks while on tour. So yes, FFF Fest will be no exception.

“I think we have a 40-minute set where 25 minutes of it will probably be off of the new album,” Beggins said. “We’re really trying to incorporate those. It’s new and fresh; it’s more fun. But, of course, we will play some classics.”

According to Beggins, another album may come in a year and a half or so, but they are specifically focusing on touring and getting “The Runaround” heard by as many people as possible.

“It’s a trip getting people to sing along to your songs,” Beggins said. “But some advice [for aspiring musicians], just do it for yourself. Make music you want to make and just go out there. It shows on stage when you are having fun, so just go have fun.”

You can catch Wild Child performing at FFF Fest at 6:25 p.m. on Nov. 10 on the Yellow Stage.
